Gigaset Communications GmbH has filed a suit for patent infringement against FRITZ!Box manufacturer AVM

Gigaset Communications GmbH, a subsidiary of Gigaset AG, has filed a lawsuit against the AVM Computer Vertriebs GmbH ("AVM") at the district court of Düsseldorf on October 21st, 2011. Gigaset is convinced that several products in the AVM FRITZ! range violate a fundamental Gigaset patent.

With this legal action Gigaset seeks an injunction regarding the usage of its technology and in particular aims at the destruction of the relevant products as well as being awarded damages for the sale of the infringing products. These include products in the FRITZ! Box and FRITZ! Fon ranges, which work on the DECT standard using the patented Gigaset technology.
