Enhanced ECO functions for Siemens Gigaset phones:
Last year Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (SHC) converted its entire Gigaset portfolio to ECO DECT. This included cutting power consumption thanks to energy-saving power supplies and various variable functions for reducing transmitting power. Now the transmitting power is completely switched off in idle or standby mode for all new Gigaset phones with ECO mode Plus. This is possible with a new technology that enables rapid synchronization of the base station and handset when calls are made or received. In addition, the transmitting power during calls can be reduced by 80 percent in ECO mode. This interplay of the ECO DECT functions means that the phone can be tailored to individual needs in the home.

Designer phones in an elegant metal design: Siemens presents the premium models Gigaset SL780 and SL785
Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (now Gigaset Communications) presents its new top-of-the-line phones, the Gigaset SL780 and SL785 (with an answering machine) with an award-winning design, new materials and refined technology. For the first time, the handset’s frame and the charging cradle are made of solid metal. This unique design has already won the “Red.Dot Honorable Mention” award. The Internet-capable Gigaset phones from Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices GmbH & Co. KG (now Gigaset Communciations) can now be used to call further useful information from the Internet directly on the display. The screensaver can show the latest status of online auctions at eBay, a daily horoscope and the user’s personal biorhythm. The new free services expand the range of information available, which used to comprise the good old weather service and the online phonebook. The desired IP service can be chosen in Gigaset.net at www.gigaset.net/de and called using a Siemens Gigaset hybrid phone, such as the Gigaset S685 IP. The information appears on the display, without the need for a PC to be switched on.

Siemens Gigaset S685 IP – a high-performance hybrid phone featuring Bluetooth and brilliant sound quality
Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (now Gigaset Communications) has added the Gigaset S685 IP to its growing portfolio of cordless hybrid phones for fixed-network and IP telephony. The new phone already integrates the new CAT-iq standard, and supports Bluetooth to connect to a headset and to exchange data with PDAs, mobile phones and PCs. IP calls can be made in brilliant HDSP (High Definition Sound Performance) quality thanks to broadband voice transport. The result is a sound quality that is much more true-to-life and enables more natural reproduction of the human voice. Gigaset C470 and C475 IP – classic, cordless phones for fixed network and VoIP calls
Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (SHC) has launched the Gigaset C470 IP and the Gigaset C475 IP with answering machine, thereby extending its offering of hybrid cordless phones for fixed network and internet telephony (VoIP). As with all Gigaset IP phones, a PC is not needed for configuration. Changing from IP to fixed network calls is done at the touch of a button. Gigaset IP phone users have access to additional services, including an online phone directory, a weather service and a news service via RSS feed. Thanks to energy-saving power supply units found in the new Gigasets with ECO DECT technology, these phones save up to 60% more energy compared with conventional Siemens cordless phones and their transmitting power can also be variably reduced.
