Munich, May 26, 2011 – With its new Gigaset C610 for analog fixed-line use, Gigaset Communications is launching a new convenience phone that families will find particularly helpful in everyday life thanks to its many features. They include the baby monitor solution with an intercom function, the day/night mode with time-controlled ringtone deactivation, a convenient handsfree feature with brilliant audio quality, and compatibility with the new Gigaset L410 handsfree clip. In the C610A version with an integrated digital answering machine, the family phone becomes a fully fledged home communications center. 
 

The new all-rounder C610 from Gigaset is the ideal phone for families. For example, it offers young parents a convenient baby monitor with useful and innovative functions that go well beyond what regular baby monitors can offer. Parents can monitor the sleep of their toddlers by placing the handset in their room and, thanks to the new intercom function, even speak soothing words to them remotely if the little ones wake up or are restless. 

 

Worry-free baby call

ECO Plus mode helps put parents’ minds at rest. It completely switches off the handset’s wireless interface when in standby mode. The handset switches back on again only when it registers sounds above a predefined volume and then immediately establishes a connection to the base station. The handset is even turned off in ECO Plus mode if multiple handsets are registered at the base station.

 

Families with children will also appreciate the convenient baby call function of the Gigaset C610. This special type of direct dialing makes it possible for a preprogrammed number to be called when any key is pressed. The practical day/night mode enables time-controlled deactivation of the ringtone on the handset. As a result, the C610 can be programmed so that no calls disturb users during the night or their midday rest.

Handsfree with the handset or the Gigaset L410

The convenient handsfree feature of the Gigaset C610 lets the whole family and more share in phone calls. The high-quality loudspeaker in the handset reproduces calls in brilliant audio quality. The C610 is fully compatible with the new and innovative Gigaset L410 handsfree clip. Since this device is easily attached to clothing by means of a strong clip, users have their hands free and thus have complete freedom of movement while making a call – without cables or an annoying headset in their ear.

Based on the technology platform of the proven and popular Gigaset C590, the new all-rounder C610 offers all the basic functions expected of a modern phone. Its phone book holds up to 150 contacts, each with space for three numbers, an e-mail address and the date of birth. Thanks to the automatic reminder function, users do not forget any of their friends’ or relatives’ birthdays. The base station administers up to six handsets, enables internal calls between two handsets or a three-way conference with an external person, and hands over calls from one handset to another.

 

The attractive Gigaset C610 is quite an eye-catcher in the living-room. The matte silver function keys below the color display make a beautiful visual contrast to the rest of the shiny black housing. The family phone is easy to use thanks to the 1.8” (4.6 cm) color display with its two different color schemes. C610 A with a digital answering machine 
Users who do not want to miss any calls when they are not at home should choose the Gigaset C610A with an integrated digital answering machine. Its capacity of up to 45 minutes is enough to record all calls, even if users are away for a longer time. The answering machine is operated either from the handset or at the base station. So that users are up-to-date at all times, the notification function sends an automatic message to a mobile phone, for example, if a caller has left a message.

 

ECO DECT – intelligent power adjustment cuts consumption 

The Gigaset C610 and C610A are true models of economy thanks to their energy-saving power supplies. As with all Gigaset cordless phones, the handset’s transmitting power is reduced depending on the distance to the base station. ECO mode reduces the transmitting power of the Gigaset C610 during calls by 80 percent². In addition, ECO Plus mode completely switches off the transmitting power when the Gigaset C610 or C610A is in standby, even if multiple handsets are registered at the base station.

The Gigaset C610 is now available at €69.99 (recommended retail price) and the Gigaset C610A with an answering machine at €79.99. The practical set with the Gigaset L410 handsfree clip costs €99.99 and offers a price advantage of €20 over the cost of buying each device individually. Anyone wishing to add to the number of Gigaset phones they already have will find the Gigaset C610H handset an excellent choice.
