The technology
Bluetooth®

Bluetooth® was the nickname of King Harold I of Denmark about a thousand years ago.
In his day, he was famous for doing exactly what a technology named after him does the world over today: effective information sharing and quick connections.

Today Bluetooth® is the absolute standard for communication between cell phones, PDAs and PCs. With the new the generation Gigaset, Bluetooth® has now arrived to the landline.

  • What can Bluetooth® do?
Bluetooth® establishes connections between different electronic devices quickly and free-of-charge. When the devices are connected, they can exchange data – provided that they are within a range of 10 m.

  • What does Bluetooth® in the new Gigaset telephones make possible?

Quick and easy exchange of contact data:
The new Gigaset telephones can receive address book entries as vCards from a second Bluetooth® device (e.g. a cell phone or PDA) or send them to another Bluetooth® device.

    Call using the headset:
You can couple the new Gigaset telephones with a compatible Bluetooth® Headset. This will enable you to take incoming calls directly on the headset, and some devices (Gigaset SL560/565) allow you to call numbers using the integrated Voice Dial – both completely hands-free.

    Synchronize data:
The new generation Gigaset replaces the data chord with Bluetooth®. With the help of the free Gigaset QuickSync Software, you can synchronize contact data with your PC wirelessly.

  • Which Bluetooth® profiles are supported by the new Gigaset telephones?
The new Gigaset telephones support the headset profile for using Bluetooth® headsets and the serial port profile for connecting to a PC.

  • What should be kept in mind when operating a Bluetooth® headset?
The incoming call signal appears directly on the telephone and headset. Calls can be switched between the headset and the respective Gigaset phone. If you take a call with your Gigaset telephone, you can forward it at any time to the headset. All you have to do is press the Accept/Reject button on the headset.

  • How many Bluetooth® devices can the Gigaset manage?
A Gigaset telephone allows you to sign on up to 6 Bluetooth® devices, but is limited to one headset.

  • How many entries can be sent or received?
Up to 250 address book entries can be sent or received as vCards.
