Important!

  • Please disconnect your M34 from your PC before installing this update.
  • Please update also firmware of your M34. The new firmware version is included in this update package. It can be installed by starting "Gigaset M34 USB - Firmware Update" application.

How to install?
  • Double click on the downloaded .exe file and extract its content into a folder of your choice
  • Open the folder to which you have just extracted the files
  • Double click on the “readme_m34_36.txt“ and follow the installation instructions.

Installation

Important!
The available software package is not VISTA-conform and not all software parts run MS logo conform during installation and execution.

  • Please uninstall the M34 software before carrying out the upgrade from Windows XP to VISTA.
  • Please start from the 'Administrator' account.
  • Please disconnect your M34 from your PC before installing this update.
  • Please update also firmware of your M34. The new firmware version is included in this update package. It can be installed by starting "Gigaset M34 USB - Firmware Update" application.
After restart, you must log on to an administrator account for the installation to continue.
If you have only one account it is most probably an administrator account.

Non-supported Functionalities

  • No ISDN modem support currently available.
  • No FAX support currently available.
  • Computer wake up via an internet call is not supported.
The Sipps version 2.1.6.27 is not VISTA compatible. Please consult the manufacturer’s web page for the current update.

Known Problems

  • Localization of the default installation directory is not supported. Please check that the default directory is correct or browse to the correct one and select it.
  • Phrase download does not work correctly. Please start the application psdlt.exe as ”Administrator” or in the administrator context.
  • SMS within the 'Gigaset M34 Software' works only as 'Administrator'.
  • In some cases you may receive a 'Windows Security' popup on driver installation ('Unsigned Driver Warning' message). If so, click on 'continue anyway' or 'install this driver software anyway'.
  • The Skype menu is only available within the 'Gigaset M34 Software' after Skype has been started for the first time.
  • When updating the firmware for the first time the start menu has to be used (user-specific handling).
  • Sometimes during the installation, the 'M34-Installation assistant' is not in the foreground. Please click on the visible part of the dialog box or on the taskbar to bring it to the front.
  • Please remember that the VISTA installation has some user account restrictions for program data. User data can be saved in virtualisation mode, i.e. a user has no access to the data of other users.
Firewall configuration

The integrated Microsoft firewall works without manual configuration.
The Sunbeld Firewall works well after the correct port forwarding has been configured.
