Gigaset SE461: Siemens presents its first WiMAX modem
Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices is presenting its first WiMAX modem for wireless broadband access in three frequency ranges. The Gigaset SE461 is based on the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard and has been designed for residential users, home offices and small to medium-sized enterprises. Apart from fast Internet access, it enables new and attractive services such as video on demand, video streaming and Voice over IP.

Siemens supplying Algérie Télécom with technology for wireless voice and data communications for business customers
Algérie Télécom, the largest telecommunications provider in Algeria, has awarded Siemens an order for the infrastructure that will enable it to set up Wireless Local Access Networks (WLANs) for business customers. The order includes 12,000 WLAN access points, WLAN end-user devices and WiMax base stations and modems from Siemens and amounts to a total of around seven million euros.
