Gigaset Communications GmbH, a leading provider of telecommunications and smart home solutions, announces that it will end its long-standing partnership with 1. FC Bocholt for the 2023/2024 season. With this decision, Gigaset would like to offer other companies the opportunity to become a main sponsor for regional sports.
Gigaset has been the main sponsor of 1. FC Bocholt since 2019 and has always attached importance to assuming regional responsibility, promoting sports in the region and supporting the team's talent. In doing so, Gigaset acted as both jersey sponsor and namesake of the "Gigaset Arena" venue on the Hünting.
"We look back with satisfaction on the successful cooperation with 1. FC Bocholt. We are pleased that the club has been able to celebrate numerous sporting successes and, during our involvement, was able to celebrate its promotion from the Oberliga Niederrhein to the Regionalliga West," says Raphael Dörr, SVP Corporate Communications, Investor Relations & Sponsoring at Gigaset.
The decision to end the partnership is not an easy one, but it was made after careful consideration. Gigaset would like to offer other companies the chance to support regional sports and take on local responsibility.
"Working with 1. FC Bocholt was an inspiring time. However, we are convinced that the time has come to give other players the opportunity to also get involved in sports as part of their CSR programs," Raphael Dörr continues.
1. FC Bocholt also supports Gigaset's decision and looks back with gratitude on the time spent together. "Gigaset has provided us with considerable support as a main sponsor in recent years. We are very grateful for this commitment. Thanks to transparent communication on the part of our partner, we are able to ensure a seamless transition for the club," says Christopher Schorch, Assistant to the Executive Board of 1. FC Bocholt. "From July 1, 2023, schauinsland-reisen gmbh will act as the new main sponsor."
Despite the termination of the partnership, Gigaset remains on friendly terms with 1. FC Bocholt and wishes the players continued success and enjoyable matches.
