Even more powerful for demanding everyday work: Gigaset has upgraded the GX6, its rugged 5G smartphone, and is now introducing the PRO version – “Made in Germany,” with an 8 GB RAM, eSIM and Android Enterprise including zero-touch administration. The Gigaset GX6 PRO has been tested according to the military standard MIL-STD-810H and complies with protection class IP68 (dust-proof and water-proof). Companies can also obtain personalized devices from Gigaset Business Support. The GX4 PRO, the little brother of the GX6 PRO, is also currently in the works.

It combines the typical qualities of a rugged smartphone with a design suitable for everyday use and good features.” Now Gigaset is introducing the GX6 PRO, the version for use in professional environments. “More and more companies are putting their trust in mobile devices from Gigaset,” says Jörg Wissing, Senior Product & Business Development Manager at Gigaset. “Deutsche Bahn, for example, uses our smartphones – train attendants use devices from our GS series. We know that very high standards are demanded in the professional arena. We address that with our PRO series.” Rugged, with staying power, Made in Germany, up to 5 years of software support, top-class connectivity, super-fast charging and a replaceable battery – the Gigaset GX6 PRO also boasts an expanded RAM of 8 GB, Android Enterprise, integrated eSIM functionality and a triple card slot for two SIM cards and a memory card.
Designed for enterprises
The Gigaset GX6 PRO’s operating system makes device management far, far simpler. Zero-touch capability and TeamViewer compatibility allow IT managers to administer the GX6 PRO quickly and easily. The device comes with a long service life: Security updates will be available for up to five years from market launch, the next two Android updates up to version 14 are firmly planned and the 5,000 mAh battery can be replaced manually.
The GX6 PRO can also be personalized as part of company orders. Because it is produced in Germany, company logos, IMEI numbers, department names or other information can be engraved on the device’s rear, even if only small quantities are involved. That helps enhance employees’ identification with the company and can prevent theft. The GX6 PRO also comes with pre-installed software if requested – from a customized start screen to predefined apps or device management details to a range of wallpapers and ringtones such as the company jingle.
Reliable companion in demanding everyday work
The Gigaset GX6 PRO supports super-fast charging at up to 30 watts via cable with a compatible charger and can recharge the battery to up to 90 percent full in around 60 minutes. Wireless charging at up to 15 watts in accordance with the Qi standard is also supported. Gigaset’s BatteryLife+ technology in the GX6 PRO extends the battery’s life by up to 50 percent by means of a default setting for the charge threshold. The Gigaset GX6 PRO has been tested in accordance with the MIL-STD-810H military standard and certified to comply with IP68 – the device thus survives drops, strong vibrations, temperature fluctuations, wet and dust. The casing can be cleaned with water, soap, alcohol or disinfectant.
Good hardware, good work
Features like 5G, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi 6, NFC and Bluetooth 5.2 mean the Gigaset GX6 PRO also meets demanding connectivity requirements. The fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the casing in the on/off button, the programmable physical function key makes it easier access to certain functions or apps – and the classic 3.5 mm jack is also back on board. The FHD+ punch-hole display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz measures 6.6 inches, is protected by Corning® Gorilla® glass and achieves a brightness of 550 nits so that everything can be seen clearly even in bright sunlight. The 2.4 GHz MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G octa-core processor delivers enough computing power. For the first time in a Gigaset device, the 50-MP PDAF wide-angle camera has optical image stabilization (OIS). The 1/1.55” sensor with a pixel size of 1,008 μm ensures brilliant images in poor lighting conditions.
Just as rugged: The Gigaset GX4 PRO
The Gigaset GX4, which was presented in December 2022, will also be available in a PRO version – with twice as much device memory, an expanded RAM of 6 GB, eSIM, numerous customization options, updates for up to five years, and Android Enterprise with all the benefits for administration and device management. The LED spotlight ring on the back and the striking dash of orange make the Gigaset GX4 PRO an eye-catcher. The full-feature 4G smartphone is positioned below the GX6 PRO and is expected to be available from Q1 2023.
Availability and prices
Gigaset markets its Professional portfolio through a network of qualified partners, who include IT and telecommunications providers, value added resellers (VARs) and providers of enterprise systems. The partners offer advice, sell and install the Gigaset Professional solutions, and offer customers other services. The Gigaset retailer search can be used to find a local partner. The Gigaset GX6 PRO will be available to qualified retailers via distributors in the colors titanium black and titanium gray from February 2023.
