Gigaset professional smartphones on the slopes: Dutch ski school and brasserie relies on Gigaset
The Skipiste Nieuwegein is located about 30 minutes from Utrecht and is home to the ‘Bij de Piste’ brasserie, a ski school, a training company and a skiwear store. Guests returning from ski or snowboard lessons can enjoy delicious snacks and drinks such as a cup of coffee and apple pie or a full lunch in the recently renovated brasserie. The brasserie is also a suitable stopover for hikers or cyclists and offers a beautiful view of the Nedereindse lake.
Four Gigaset Professional GX290 PRO devices had already been in use in the brasserie on the ski slope since 2022. The devices were mainly used to reliably take orders at ‘Bij de Piste’ and to efficiently transmit them to the kitchen. After two years, it was time to equip the brasserie with new devices that have better cameras and the latest NFC technology. As a result, the equipment was upgraded with two new Gigaset GX4 PRO- and GX6 PRO models respectively. After an update to the payment programme used by the brasserie and shops, it became possible for ‘Bij de Piste’ to also receive payments directly via NFC on their smartphones. This means that only Gigaset smartphones are now needed to take orders and process payments. This has created an all-in-one solution for the business.
Why Gigaset professional smartphones?
Gigaset professional smartphones are durable and robust: ‘With their robust features and powerful battery, the devices are in use for a long time and don't need to be replaced often. For example, the screen of the previous solution broke several times, which incurred additional costs for us each time. The five-year security and Android updates also played a major role in our decision in favour of Gigaset,’ says Roy van Toorn, General Manager at Bij de Piste.
The Gigaset Professional smartphones also score extra points with the ‘Made in Germany’ logo, their extended RAM, Android Enterprise, integrated eSIM functionality (GX6 PRO) and a triple card slot for two SIM cards and a memory card.
The use of the GX4 PRO and GX6 PRO devices at the Nieuwegein ski slope ensures efficient order taking and payment processing, both in the restaurant and in the shop and ski boot rental. In addition, Roy van Toorn has opted for Gigaset's customisation service and had the ‘Bij de Piste’ logo engraved on the back of the GX6 PRO smartphones. In the future, not only the logo will be engraved on the back of the devices, but also the devices intended for the brasserie and those used in the shop, for example, will be labelled.
