The steadily growing company now employs over 160 people. Customers from various sectors, such as healthcare, education, financial services and industry, rely on STARFACE solutions. STARFACE works very closely with system integrators, resellers and hardware manufacturers and continuously invests in research and development to provide innovative communication solutions.

Initial situation

Due to the strong growth of STARFACE, the move to a new office became inevitable. The choice fell on a former bank building in Karlsruhe, which was completely renovated and adapted to the needs of STARFACE. When setting up the telecommunications infrastructure, the company placed a high value on the fact that employees can be reached not only at their desks but also when they are in the building (e.g. in meetings). In view of the further growth forecast, the company also wanted a scalable solution with simple auto-provisioning for connection to the in-house STARFACE PBX. Thick concrete walls, reflective glass walls in the meeting rooms and a complex structure over several floors posed a particular challenge.

Solution

Due to the long-standing partnership and numerous joint major projects, it was no question for STARFACE which partner to rely on for this important project. The consistently positive experiences with Gigaset DECT solutions and the fact that both companies rely on ‘Made in Germany’ quality were decisive. Throughout the entire implementation process, Gigaset was at our side as a competent partner.

To ensure the best possible coverage, each floor of the building was thoroughly illuminated, which is an essential part of planning a DECT infrastructure. The bottom floor was particularly challenging, with reinforced concrete walls more than 40 cm thick. Without this prior illumination, it would not have been possible to achieve 100% coverage of the building with DECT.

After the preparations, a total of 12 DECT bases of the Gigaset N870 IP PRO type were installed on the five floors. In addition, a DECT master licence, a virtual integrator and about 150 handsets were used. A convenient feature of the solution is the option to receive doorbells as calls and to open doors via the handset.
